I first took pictures at my son's 4-5 yr. old soccer game. Then, I decided to go scout out a local football team at a park.
Needless to say I think I would need a better lens. Luckily a fellow classmate let me borrow his Canon 70-200mm f/4 and this helped me to achieve some of the nice blur that you get in the background.
